Students always ask me how often should they change the strings on there guitar…

My answer is, it depends!

I know some players that only change there strings when a string breaks.

I know others that change strings on a monthly basis.

On acoustic guitars, steel and classical guitars, the newer the string the more string and finger noise you get.

Unless you are a Jazz or Classical Guitarist, rarely
will you ever play in the key of Ab. I’m not saying
that some of the pop or rock tunes are not in the key
of Ab.

For the most part, guitarist play in the the keys of:
C – G – D – A – E and the relative minor of those keys.

I remember clearly going to a guitar lesson years ago
with Jazz Guitarist Mick Goodrick and I told him I never

1. Try to figure out what the key is.
2. Try to figure out what chords they are using.
